Barbara C. Rossi passed away January 9, 2019 at the age of 85. She was an art teacher in the Lackawanna school for 33 years. Mrs. Rossi was active in the Croatian Sensations Church Banch from Our Lady of Bistrica Catholic Church.

Karen (Lewenicht) Sutton of Derby, NY passed away September 28, 2018 at the age of 73. She worked as a physical education teacher in the Hamburg Central School District for 30 years. She had many friends and loved going out to lunch with them. Mrs. Sutton was also active in both a swimming group and a volleyball group.

Duncan Arthur Badding passed away on March 8, 2019. He achieved the rank of “LIFE” in scouting and was a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Life Gaurd. Mr. Badding loved science, new technology, and had an aptitude for all things mechanical, electrical, and electronic.

In memory of Penny Sweeny who passed away July 3, 2015. Penny was born in Buffalo and spent 40 years as a Special Eduacation teacher. She retired in 2006 and relocated to The Villages, FL in 2011. She loved coming back to her summer house on Lake Erie and spending countless hours tending to rocks gardens, reading, walking the beach, or simly watching the sun set. Her passion for football and especially her beloved Bills ran deep and she never ever lost faith no matter how may losing seasons, watching each and every Sunday and always counting the days to the football season began each fall.

A short list of her volunteer work included Girl Scouts, SPCA, Miss Southern Erie County Pageant and more.

In memory of Mark A. Corsi who passed away on September 18, 2019. For more than 30 years, Mark was a fixture at the corner of Elmwood and Bird avenues with his iconic store Poster Art. Open and warm, he made every passerby feel like an old friend. He kept the street swept, the trash cans from overflowing and the flowers watered. Even more, he made sure the people in the neighborhood were taken care of, especially those with mental illness. He took people into the convenience store across the street to buy them food and drinks, and made sure they had warm coats and boots in the winter.

In memory of Raymond Caruana who passed away May 1, 2020. Ray worked for the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles until 2003. After that, he taught Drivers Education at ECC and worked to develop the “Stop DWI” program. Ray loved riding his bike home when the weather was nice, having breakfast with his friends, and driving his Karmann Ghia convertible.
